So here I am… blogging. I swore I’d never do this, but alas! I have
at last succumbed. I suppose in all fairness, it’s not much different
than keeping a diary or journal as I did when I was a teenager. The only
main difference is that it’s not as private. Well anyway, I decided to
create a blog to map the journey of my artwork to give myself something
to look back on in years to come and to give you a chance to walk this
journey with me.
A little about myself: My name is Linda. As I write this I’m in my
mid thirties. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but
have only recently started treating it seriously as something I could
possibly make a living off. Or at least a hobby I can make some money
off to pour back into it. I have also recently added painting to my
growing repertoire. I have not yet decided on a medium or style that
will be my personal trademark. I’m currently trying and enjoying as many
as possible until I find one that I can shine in. And in the meantime,
the trialing is helping me hone my skills as an artist.
I live in England with my husband, teenage son and 2 cats. I’ve lived
in England now for over 8 and a half years. I’m originally from the
beautiful Down Under, where my family still reside and whom I miss with
an ache that can never be healed save moving back. I don’t work. I am
perfectly happy being a housewife and staying at home. That’s not to say
I’ve never worked. I have had a variety of jobs, but due to poor health
and bad experiences, I’ve made the choice to stay at home and paint. My
dream is to sell my work and take commissions enough to boost our
income and allow me to carry on doing what I love most: Art.
I want to take you on a journey now. Sadly I didn’t keep all of my
drawings from the past, but what I do have, I’d like to share.
DISCLAIMER: It is in no way my intent to infringe upon any copyright
laws. All of my practicing in drawing and painting have come from
photographs I have either taken myself or taken from google. I will say
this once: Unless otherwise stated, I do not take credit for the
original photograph of the drawing or painting I produce. All credit
goes to the original photographer/artist. I merely use the material as
reference or even copy for the purpose of practicing my skills and
learning techniques.
So without further ado I present to you my journey into the world of art.
